Whether you’re a new agent or a seasoned one, it’s always vital that you know what people look for when they are choosing an agent. I’m here to tell you the 5 qualities that will help distinguish you from other agents in the best way possible.

1. Honest

It is a given that in order for people to trust you as an agent, you need to be honest. Being able to be upfront in a respective way for your clients is critical to creating an authentic relationship between you both.

2. Knowledgeable

I’m sure you’ve heard the saying, “knowledge is power.” Well, in real estate, this couldn’t be truer. Make sure that you the market in your area like the back of your hand; regardless of your experience level, a knowledgeable conversation that helps your client better understand real estate is a particularly valuable skill set.

3. Communicative

I shouldn’t even have to say this one, but communication is so often forgotten in transactions! Simply making sure to be prompt in returning any call, email, or message from your client will make all the difference. Assure that you’re communicating with them openly about updates that are happening, since that is what they are trusting you to do.

4. Goal-oriented

When choosing someone to represent them, people want a real estate agent that will get the job done. In order to make sure that this happens, they will look for someone who is goal-oriented: who can get their home sold, no questions asked? Be the agent that will prove they can set a goal and achieve it in a timely manner for the benefit of their client.

5. Motivated

If you’re in real estate, it’s almost a given that you need to have motivation. You should express a motivated mindset during the listing presentation all the way to negotiating on your client’s behalf when they make an offer; being motivated to accomplish your client’s wishes shows them that you truly do care.
