Before you even read any further, the answer is YES! Contrary to what many people believe, locals do not spend all of their time on the strip, and in fact, we actually don’t even go there as much as you’d think.
Regardless, Las Vegas is a fantastic place to raise your family, and to prove it to you, I’ve compiled the 3 areas in Las Vegas that families will love. Vegas has been my only home for my entire life, and I want to share its beauty with you!
To preface, these locations are entirely preference-based, so it will ultimately be up to where you feel most comfortable. Let’s get into it!
1. Green Valley, Henderson
Located in the Southeast part of the valley, Green Valley has great schools, incredible locational value, and even better amenities and activities.
One of my personal favorite places to go there is the Green Valley District: a shopping and eatery complex for all ages! Right down the street from there is the Henderson Pavilion, where you can take your kids for leaning classes like dance, swim, music, and so much more.
The I-215 is in a convenient place to help with travel and commute time as well.
2. Summerlin, Las Vegas
This master-planned community is located in the Central West part of town, and has activities, events, and other fun places to go for you and your family!
With frequent beautiful parks and large shopping complexes, Summerlin is objectively one of the most desirable places to live in Las Vegas.
Fun fact, Summerlin is actually the largest master-planned community in the entire NATION! Downtown Summerlin also has plenty of things to do, so you’ll never be bored!
3. Whitney Ranch, Henderson
Similar to Green Valley, Whitney Ranch is located in the Southeast part of town, but it will likely be on the more affordable side!
Homes here have close access to all the amenities that I mentioned for Green Valley, but the average home price will be around $50-$100k lower than the Green Valley alternative.
The Galleria at Sunset Mall is one of the fun places for middle and high schoolers to hang out, which can be appealing for families with kids on the older side.
Overall, Whitney Ranch is in a great location with great surroundings!
I hope that this helped you get a glimpse into Las Vegas and an idea of only some of the awesome areas that are here.
While there are numerous other parts of town that all have their perks, these are just the ones that I’ve studied from a statistical standpoint. Thanks for reading, and I’ll talk to you all next week!
